Action Challenge is a UK-based adventure and charity-challenge organizer with over 20 years of experience running expeditions worldwide, having raised more than £90 million for charities and worked with corporate groups from companies like Harrods, Blackrock and HSBC. The Saharan Challenge is one of their flagship overseas trips: solo-friendly, and open to walkers, joggers and runners alike — no elite fitness required, just determination.
The adventure itself is a 6-day desert trekking challenge across the UNESCO-listed Draa Valley: two back-to-back 42km days through red clay Berber villages, palmeries and lunar landscapes — starting near Afra by Mount Kissane, then passing the fortress of Beni Zoli to finish at the Nakhla sand dunes. Each tough day under the Moroccan sun is followed by evenings at a private Bedouin-style basecamp with hot showers, a dining tent, a bar and local food — plus 2 nights in Marrakech to unwind. The trip is led by UK Mountain Leaders with expedition medics on hand throughout.
