A desert adventure like no other
Celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2026, TZTM returns to where the adventure first began: the spectacular desert of M’Hamid El Ghizlane, at the gateway to the Moroccan Sahara. From 9 to 17 October, runners and walkers from around the world will share an extraordinary journey through one of Morocco’s last truly wild landscapes.
Over five stages covering approximately 200 kilometres, participants cross ancient caravan routes, palm groves, rocky plateaus, dried riverbeds and some of the country’s most breathtaking dune fields. Every edition features a unique course, designed to reveal a different side of the Sahara while preserving the spirit of exploration that defines TZTM.
More than a race
TZTM is intentionally different from a traditional stage race. It welcomes both experienced ultra-runners and hikers who wish to experience the Sahara at their own pace, sharing the same adventure, the same bivouacs and the same unforgettable moments.
Life in the desert is an essential part of the experience. Days are spent pushing personal limits across spectacular landscapes, while evenings bring everyone together around the camp, under star-filled skies, where stories, cultures and friendships naturally come together.
A meaningful human project
Behind TZTM stands Run To Start, a Belgian non-profit organization that created the event with a simple ambition: use sport to create a lasting positive impact.
Unlike many sporting events, 100% of the profits generated by TZTM are donated to the APCIZ association in Zagora, which provides education, care and specialized transportation for nearly one hundred children living with disabilities. Thanks to the event and other fundraising initiatives, Run To Start has been supporting APCIZ for many years through sustainable projects that directly improve the daily lives of local families.
Every registration contributes to something far greater than the finish line.
