Ultra X Sahara is a five-stage ultra-distance event held in the remote Chegaga region of the Moroccan Sahara. Covering a total of 220 km, the course crosses vast sand dunes, rocky plateaus and exposed desert terrain, offering a demanding endurance challenge in one of the most isolated environments in the country. Open to both runners and walkers, the event features relaxed cut-off times, allowing participants an average of 2 to 3 hours per 10 km section. The format prioritizes adventure and resilience over speed, with full course marking, medical support, checkpoints and GPS tracking in place. Participants unable to complete a stage may continue the week with the event crew and are offered discounted entry to a future edition.
